    I remember PC "swap meets" back in the late '80s, they seemed mostly run
    by PC shops that were selling off used equipment.

    They're still around, though not as many and not as big from what I've seen on social media. There were a couple monthly SMs in my area I frequented. Didn't always buy stuff, I just liked to see what kind of goodies people would bring.
