Is the SSL/TLS stuff in Synchronet just primarily based around login credentials at the moment? Just wondering, as I set up a Let's Encrypt cert so I could get HTTPS and proper usage of port 443 on the web server, and I can't seem to get anything to work. Whether it be by replacing ssl.cert in the ctrl directory, or whatever.. there seems to be nothing that will actually point to your certs.

When I try HTTPS, it says I'm running an unsecure site, and when I try port 443, it shows some wierd ASCII garbage. I've also tried these with nix.synchro.net and get the same results.

I've asked Deuce about it, but he hasn't responded. I was just wondering in general and if you by chance know the answer.. that'd be great. :)

I don't know the answer for sure, but I think it's a yes and it's been discussed before.

Try deleting ctrl/ssl.cert then.

nope, don't have it (just looked), before you type try deleting another file, I don't have a compiler, I just get your builds and get the new \ updated files from the sbbs cvs.

nope, don't have it (just looked), before you type try deleting another file, I don't have a compiler, I just get your builds and get the new \ updated files from the sbbs cvs.

Do you care about SSL/TLS (HTTPS)? If not, then just disable TLS/SSL for the webserver and the error will stop.

The error means it couldn't open or create the file ctrl/ssl.cert or the file was invalid for some reason. If you don't have that file, then I guess it could be a permissions issue of some kind.

This has nothing to do with source code or compilers. Synchronet creates (and reuses) the files I'm talking about, automatically; they're not in CVS and not distributed with sbbs.
