  • rx by real name

    I no longer seem to be able to receive incoming email by real name (ie: gregg.somes@asmf-etrucker.com), I looked in sbbs.ini and do not see an RX_BY_REALNAME type config option; have added gregg.somes to alias.cfg as well as (FSAG) asmf-etrucker.com to domains.cfg (even though SCFG->NETWORKS->INTERNET EMAIL->SYSTEM ADDRESS is asmf-etrucker.com) but senders receive a 550 Mailbox Closed error, however sending to either mortifis@asmf-etrucker.com or sysop@... or user_number@... all work.

    Any ideas why real_name@domain no longer works?

    Does your account have the 'M' restriction? The closest thing I found in the mail server code, to the error message you reported is this:

    "550 Closed mailbox: <recipient>"

    Which only happens if someone is trying to send unauthenticated email to an M-restricted user account.
