i have several domains defined that my system accepts email for... if i list an alias in alias.cfg, do i just need to put the name portion of the address or do i need to list that for the first domain and then list it again with other domains?
eg:
foo 3
foo@domain2.invalid 3
foo@domain3.invalid 3
or does foo cover all the listed domains in scfg?
thanks!

I do believe that if you have domains listed in domains.cfg, then
wildcards in alias.cfg would be accepted, therefore foo* 3 would
intpret as either foo; foo@domain2.invalid; foo@domain3.invalid;
foo@domain*; etc
or does foo cover all the listed domains in scfg?
just 'foo' is all you need.
And the domains are listed in ctrl/domains.cfg, not in SCFG.
'nother question... what problems am i lible to run into when changing my domain name in the configs?

I can't think of any.

do i need to do anything special in the bbs list for my entry? or will it be updated automatically the next time my system exports an update? if i have to do something manually, i remember to do it with my other account over there that created the bbs list entry ;)
i can see where this will change my entry in the sbbsimsg.lst file, too...
the only other place i can see my wpusa.dynip.com domain mentioned is in the ssl.cert file... will that be regenerated automatically or do i need to edit/delete a file to cause it to regenerate?
i am wanting to do that
letsencrypt thing, too... with only one domain, that'll be easier so maybe i'll
wait on that until decision time...

"over there"?
If you created the bbs list entry on your own BBS (which is the normal way),
then wouldn't it be your sysop account (normally, user #1) on your
BBS?
Anyway, you can have multiple domain names for BBS services in the BBS list or you can change them and it'll re-export to the SYNCDATA echo automatically.
i can see where this will change my entry in the sbbsimsg.lst file,
too...
Yup, that file is created from the sbbslist.json here on Vertrauen (which contains entries imported from SYNCDATA) - so that should all get updated automatically.

That, I'm no sure. By default, it's self-signed, so it may auto-re-generate. If not, you could just delete the file and it'll get recreated.

Sure. I'm not sure, but I think you can add additional domains later
to your letsyncrypt.ini file later as well.

No, no such setting.

does anything happen when a http connection is made and https is present and more desirable?
i asked about a setting but not having one doesn't mean that
the system doesn't already redirect to the https side... i'm just curious because this will be the first time i've offered https and i see how that is preferred... especially that a lot of sites redirect to the https side if you connect via http...

Your web pages could do that (e.g. with JavaScript) if you like.
Or possibly via webctrl.ini file changes.
