Hi Everyone,

I'm having some trouble with addfiles because it will not import the file_id.diz file.

I ensured that the file_id.diz import is working by removing a file from the file db and re uploading the file, the file_id.diz is imported in that case.

When I use addfiles though e.g. addfiles - -szn or addfiles - -sz the file_id.diz file is never imported.

I'm using addfiles 3.02-Win32, any ideas?

P.S. Ive also removed a file from the file db and then added the single file with addfiles (saw added 1 file(s) message) and i still don't see file_id.diz being imported.

Likely because it couldn't extract the file_id.diz file from the archive(s) being added either because:

1. there was no configured Extractable File type for the type of file being added, or:
2. the extractable file type was misconfigured to the archive/extraction program couldn't be executed or it was doing something unexpected (e.g. placing the extracted file somewhere unexpected).

You should see addfiles running the associated Extractable File command-line when the file is being added and possibly any error being reported by that program. Examining that console output closely or pasting it here could help to identify the problem.

Here is a portion of the output, there are a number of files added but I'm not seeing anything in regard to the file_id.diz file being extracted.

I see there are a number of files added to the file DB but the File_ID.diz isn't extracted and added to the file DB.

As far as I can tell zip is configured in extractable file types. And since when uploading a file to the board its able to extract the File_ID.diz I would assume the extrable file types config is correct for zip already. It just doesn't work with addfiles. Currently I have:

You should see "unzip" execute (from addfiles) when working normally and adding .zip files.

No, I don't think it's either of those.

That's odd. Firstly, 'D' is usually for download. Secondly, the file pattern matches are normally case-insensitive. Perhaps you can provide a capture of what you're doing/seeing.

I'll keep poking around.

And what version/revision of addfiles.exe are you using?

Certainly not a case issue, that was my mistake. I was looking at the number of files before refreshing the list again.

I was able to work around the issue a bit by removing files from the files db from the files menu, then doing ;UPLOAD ALL to add then back.

That's likely the issue. When addfiles is running, there is no active user account, so that would be the equivalent of "level 0" and you've determined that only users of level 20 and higher can extract files.

That actually makes a lot of sense. For some reason I was thinking that addfiles would not look at the level since it was being run from the command prompt but this is even better and seems more correct for something that requires a security flag.

Yeah, I'm running v3.16. v3.17a, hmm? Maybe I can take a look at starting to do some upgrading of the environment. Its gone through a lot, I had it on windows, then nuked it. Started on win again, moved to linux and moved back to windows, and as far as I can tell I didn't loose any data. Its been quite the adventure my board and I have had together.

Ive got the board tricked out quite a bit. Back in 2006 when I discovered synchronet I got quite excited about it and invited you to it a bit prematurely, it was still a JOSI (Just another sync install) at the time. You should stop by and take a peek at the board now.
