there seems to be a problem with the IRC network... i can connect to several other IRC servers but nothing is populated in #synchronet... my own ircd can't even connect now... i'm surprised no one is talking about it...
i commented out my C and N lines for cvs yesterday morning since there was some problem preventing cvs from rejoining the network... that's the only edit to ircd.conf that has been made in the last week or two since i got it working and connected (again)...

Nobody's talking about it because the problem is not widespread.
There are 38 servers linked up right now.

What's your server - sestar.synchro.net?
It was linked to cvs.synchro.net until a minute or so ago, when I
booted it off.
Try reconnecting. Maybe make sure that you don't have a forgotten
instance of the ircd running (via jsexec or something).
interesting... using my irc client, i tried numerous connections to the "round-robin" irc.synchro.net host and none of the (5 or so) individual ircds i got connected to populated #synchronet...
interesting... sestar's ircd has been shutdown (via /die) since a little before 2018-11-12 06:35:54 -0500... is there another better command i should be using instead of /die?
why i shut down sestar's ircd and removed the C and N lines for cvs... should i add them back?? the only ones i have now are for vert... i don't
in case this happens again, what is the best/fastest way to get word to someone who can fix the problem? as noted, i did try connecting to other ircds in the network with my client but wasn't able to get anything to populate...

Using /die is probably best, but even that shouldn't be necessary.
BBS might crash and not disconnect gracefully, and they should be able to reconnect.
For whatever reason, cvs.synchro.net didn't think that your server had disconnected, so it wasn't letting you reconnect. I'd have to dig prettydeep
into the IRCD to figure out why, and I'm not too keen on that.

Which ones did you connect to?

Were they just the default C/N lines from the stock ircd.conf? If so,
you can add them back. If you modified them, maybe not.

Normally I'd say just connect to another server on the network, but obviously that didn't work out too well.
It'd be interesting to know which servers you got sent to.
You can email echicken -at- bbs.electronicchicken.com. If I'm awake
and in any position to fix the problem, I'll see it and do something
soon enough.

End Of The Line BBS is in the round robin list and I can confirm that #synchronet is populated. Maybe you mistyped it? ;)

Usually /die yes but considering that it appears /die may be leaving
hung connetions around it might be better to /squit yourself first
then /die.

This happened before, a few weeks ago if you remember, so there's something going on but I agree. Who wants to poke around in a
javascript ircd!
frugalbb, nolan, tesbbs, pharcyde, grudgedu, toxic
