• more details in error.log?

can we get some more details in error.log? for example, the following doesn't tell me which system was connected to and we have to dig through the syslogs, if they still exist, to try to find the time frame...

evnt BINKOUT BinkP got fatal error from remote: 'Password mismatch'.

in this case, it was an outbound poll but in others, it could easily be inbound...

FWIW: i'm glad i thought to increase by syslog log rotation to retain more than the default seven days... i'm also glad i found out about zgrep which allows grepping gz files ;)

Okay, so this is a BinkIt/BinkP special case. I didn't write it, but I'll see if I can figure out how to add more details to the error messages for you (in binkit.js and binkp.js).

in this case, it was an outbound poll but in others, it could easily be inbound...

Actually, it couldn't (the "from remote" part gives it away). Binkp servers don't send passwords on inbound connections.

actually, i was commenting about the password mismatch portion... invalid password or whatever like is seen when they connect inbound instead of me polling out...

i'll try to keep this in mind... i have it bookmarked now ;)
