• "File not found" error message

From Dan Clough@1:103/705 to All on Wed Nov 7 21:51:50 2018
    Hi all,
New Synchronet sysop here, have a question about an error message I'm seeing. I installed the 3.16c (win32) version and have it configured for basic operation. I decided to upgrade to the latest Dev version (3.17a?) by following the upgrade instructions on the Synchronet Wiki. I've done it twice now and was very careful to follow all steps, and the error I'm seeing shows up each time I get it upgraded. Specifically it happens when you go to the File Transfer section, and then do a "/*" command to List Libraries. On 3.16 it works as expected but on my 3.17 attempts I get the "file not found" error. On the VERT BBS the same thing happens... I did check two other 3.17's, both running on Linux, and one had the problem and one worked properly. So, I've seen it on both Win/Linux versions, on 3.17, but never on 3.16. One other interesting thing - even on the ones showing the problem, if you do the "J" command to show all available areas/libraries, it works normally. Any ideas on this? Possible bug or what? Thanks for any info!

I run SBBS 3.17a on both Slackware Linux 14.2 on my x86_64 PC as well as Rasbian 2.14 (Debian 9.5 Armv7.1) on my Raspberry Pi, both installs successfully display the File Areas with the /* command ... the only Command Shell that I know of that supports the /* hotkey is Synchronet Classic, perhaps there is something in your copy that is not up-to-date??

Yes, that's the error. What's a little strange is that the Wiki says
that file is optional and is "displayed instead of dynamically generated
list". It does not exist on my 3.16 system and yet it works properly.
The Wiki page also says it's displayed by "execfile.cpp", so I'm
thinking there is an error in the 3.17 version of that source code.

    Thoughts? Is there a fix?
