Just one quick silly question.... what exactly is the new echostat.ini file used for?
Nothing, yet. It's just informational. If you want to know the average rate of dupes for an echo, for example, it could be calculated from that file (once it's been in use for a while). My original was thought to all things like "auto-add" echoes (and create the subs) that have a minimum amount of average activity and that would be determined from the echostats.
Ahhh... ok. Was wondering as it seems to get overwritten everytime sbbsecho runs with new information losing the previous data.

SBBSecho loads the contents of the echostats.ini into memory, updates
it, and then writes it back to the file. If you make modifications to
the file (e.g. add comments) they will be lost when SBBSecho saves the file again. No "previous data" should otherwise be lost.
