    I reget to advise you that I have given up on setting up a formal BBS
    and have become a point from a Toronto BBS.

    I can't get FrontDoor APX to run in a telnet session, jsust diedialup

    No need to regret that. A point is as good a place to start as any and it will give you access to a lot of support areas should you find them of interest.

    There are many of us around DOVE-Net and Fidonet (othernets too) who would be glad to help you setup a BBS or point should the need arise.

    I couldn't even guess at the number of people who have pointed me in the right direction over the years so I try to return the favour.. :)

    Right now I am battling with winpoint.

    The screen is reeeeeeeeeeeeallly skinny in the editor.

    I am going to look at the config.

    It shouldn't be. I haven't used Winpoint in a decade or so but when I did it was a nice full screen interface and fairly easy to use.

    Another choice for a point setup is Aftershock (it'll cost you a dollar) or hotdoged. Those are android apps that'll work on an android device like a phone or tablet.

    I haven't used hotdoged in a while but I think it's free. I use Aftershock for my own point when I'm on the road. It works well and setup is quick and easy.
