how do i reset my pointers for DOVE-Net General?

it seems that it wasn't in my configs when i set everything up... i was just told about it (thanks Al!) and added it... then i did a call out but didn't get anything... so i connected to vert with my QWK account and made sure 2001 was in the areas i have selected... i also reset the pointers... or i tried to... i put in 999 or 9999 for all posts... i don't know what the limit is but another call out didn't get anything from General either...

    what have i missed?

    thanks

how do i reset my pointers for DOVE-Net General?

You can login to the BBS with your QWKnet account or you can send control messages:
    http://synchro.net/docs/message_section.html#RemoteQWKFunctions

it seems that it wasn't in my configs when i set everything up... i was just told about it (thanks Al!) and added it...

That's odd. The DOVE-Net message group is included in the stock message base configuration. Perhaps you deleted the group? Or just that sub-board?

then i did a call out but didn't
get anything... so i connected to vert with my QWK account and made sure 2001 was in the areas i have selected... i also reset the pointers... or i tried to... i put in 999 or 9999 for all posts... i don't know what the limit is but another call out didn't get anything from General either...

A log of exactly what you did would help, but yes, you can set/reset scan pointers from the QWK: prompt.

nope, i never went in that section of the configs until Al told me that my General area had no messages and that it is one of the busiest message areas on
DOVE-Net... i had to actually INSert it at the top of the list... that's the first time i've ever done anything in QWK networking...

i did figure that out and it was a little bit later (maybe 30 minutes or more) when i saw a QWK call out that did pull messages in General... i saw a lot being filtered out... i guess the defaults are to keep those less than 30 days old or less... i dunno... i just haven't been in that section at all because i have other parts i've been concentrating on...
