• setting file's upload date

is there a tool that i can use to set a file's upload date to its file date? i've imported a lot of files from my old setup and they all have the date of import instead of the files' dates... i'd like to reset them to have the files' creation dates...

Not that I'm aware of. So you have a file with a timestamp of jan-1-1980, and you want your users to think that it was added to your filebase in 1980?

only the ones that i manually imported from my previous setup... not anything new that has come in and been processed... to me it just looks better in an archive that the dates are representative of reality... most of my files i did get on or within a few days of their release...

i even had a script that would set the archive date based on the oldest file inside the archive... that was really handy to get the proper date when the file was transferred via a method that didn't carry the original date over the wire... that was painful until i wrote my script to fix several areas that were transferred via ftp i think... i'm fairly sure it was a problem with the client being used, though... that was a while back, too... i was recovering from a crash then...

anyway, i just need to get to the place where i can take some time to learn the javascript code you guys have written... i can maybe then adjust a few things more to my ideas and desires ;)
