  • manually adding a long description to a file

    when editing a file's description, how can i put in a long description instead of just a short one line one? i'm trying to clean up my files that i brought over from my old setup... some files do not have file_id.diz so they end up with no description... so i take my old files list and find the description but i can't enter it all because it is a long description... what am i missing?

    I create a files.bbs and put it in the files directory and import it with addfiles. Descriptions are currently limited to roughly 512 characters or so.

    i didn't think about that... i'd have to create it properly and manually... the
    only thing close is my allfiles listing from the old system... hummm... but wait... i think i also have a ton of 4DOS descript.ion files that allfix maintained... they're pretty much files.bbs files... double hummm...

    that's reasonable :) ok, i did think there was a long description editor for the files... i can't remember which other BBS package that was, though... i know RA had it but i hadn't needed to use it in a very long while... i keep wanting to say it was one with some WWIV heritage but hummm...
