• javascript module error

    Hi,

When I run binkIT javascript module it declares an error that

    C:\sbbs\exec\binkit.js

    does not exist.

I searched the drive and I could not find it anywhere.

    What am I missing?

If you ran the Windows installer for Synchronet 3.16c then it's likely binkit didn't exist at the time when the installer was made.

There's some info on the wiki about updating your system. I don't know if binkit relies on anything in newer builds of Synchronet, but it probably does rely on several scripts in exec/ and exec/load/ which you may not have. (So just finding and downloading the main binkit script itself won't be of much use.)

It sounds like you're missing binkit.js and probably other .js files.

See the "Run-time files" section here for details on how to get them: http://wiki.synchro.net/install:dev#run-time_files

It is likely BinkIT requires the newer Javascript builds. I know TickIT does - I had to hack tickit.js to make it run at all under 3.16c, and even then it only worked partially and occasionally. I recommend the OP upgrade to 3.17, to get all of the additional functionality, including BinkIT and TickIT.

What changes did you have to make? (Just curious, I don't use these tools myself.)

I had to play wround with references to various functions. But as I said, it didn't really work. I now run 3.17, and TickIT works fine in this version. :)
