Hi,

In the last couple of weeks, and for practical reasons I spend more time using offline echomail readers (multimail) so I keep downloading the QWK packet from my BBS and I upload the REP file after I answered and I have buggered a bit everyone.

Now, I have noticed the zipped QWK packet contains the Area reply Number + Name/Description for it, but the Name/Description is very short (example below):

3070 FDN ANNOUN
3010 ALLFIX FIL
3028 BBS INTERN
3031 BBBS.ENGLI

I have double checked in toe Area Configuration and the names are in full (for the Long and Most of the Short) and I wonder whether is possible to have the long version also on the QWK paket?

(And Probably Digital Man will get back to me with some option that again, I have completely overlooked!!!)

Have you turned on QWKE in your packet configuration on the BBS?

Yes, just enable "QWKE" support for your user account, from the QWK menu/prompt.

Yes, just enable "QWKE" support for your user account, from the QWK menu/prompt.

QWK is extremely limited... you've found one of those limitations... QWKE relaxes some of those but you have to also use a reader that supports QWKE... more offline readers in use today do...

Slowly catching up with modern times in here, but as I still got a way for retirement the catch up will be slow as I usually got lot of work to do around different technologies....
