    Downloaded PabloDraw for Windows. I did have to convert it to ANSI to see the file correctly in PabloDraw

    You don't have to. Just select "Ctrl-A" in the format drop-down box and open the .asc file directly. If you save it, choose Ctrl-A format as
    well.

    I missed the beginning of this conversation. Are you guys talking about opening/saving .ASC files with the Synchronet text editor? Where might I
    find this?

    You don't have to. Just select "Ctrl-A" in the format drop-down box and open the .asc file directly. If you save it, choose Ctrl-A format as well.

    Ahh... I've used PabloDraw in the past. One of the best Win32 capable ANSI drawing apps that I know of. I hadn't thought of saving in ASCII format. I will have to give it a try.

    The question was using PabloDraw to open files with Synchronet's Ctrl-A codes. Digital Man is saying there's an option in PabloDraw to use Ctrl-A format when opening a file.

    PabloDraw is nice. I still tend to use TheDraw, even though it's a DOS program. It seemed that TheDraw supports more features (such as ANSI animation) that PabloDraw didn't support (at least, when I first started using PabloDraw). Though, PabloDraw is the recommended program for editing/creating the ANSI avatars that Synchronet uses.

    TundraDraw is another modern ANSI drawing program I've tried, though I'm not sure if it's as good as PabloDraw.

    Okay.

    The question was using PabloDraw to open files with Synchronet's Ctrl-A codes. Digital Man is saying there's an option in PabloDraw to use
    Ctrl-A format when opening a file.

    That's an awesome feature. I'll have to check it out.

    Another TheDraw follower in here since the early days.
    PabloDraw is quite nice, but for some reason I do better with TheDraw.

    I got TheDraw running in MacOsX, I haven't ported it as such but I managed to wrap it up in Emulation mode and in working order.(I will try to find time to pack it and upload it to the BBS....)

    You know this is not an uncommon accurance. I'll just have to watch more closely. Just glad at the moment to have some time having fun with BBSing again and getting things moving in an upward way.

    PabloDraw would be nice with animation. That is true. I used TheDraw to do animation (though you might not really see it) with my door game, Legion RPG.
    I have it move to a new pointer position on the screen basically. I use TheDraw mostly myself. I use PabloDraw when going through ANSI scene stuff.
    A lot of it is great, but unfortunately TheDraw has line length boundaries
    and it isn't always real easy to get lines more than 25 to display on the screen properly, so PabloDraw is good for that (for me at least).

    Definately a good look-ahead for your software when you were developing it. Not sure which came first the chicken or the egg, but regardless, both are good. :)
