• CONVERTING THEDRAW .ANS TO SYNCH .ASC

From Joe@1:103/705 to All on Mon Apr 3 13:09:16 2017
    Hello All,

I made a logon.ans in TheDraw using .TDF imported fonts. When I try to convert to .asc using ansi2asc.exe, the resulting file is displayed with every letter shifted to the left side of the page, and several pages long. In other words, all the formatting is stripped from the file.

I'm trying to find a solution in the wiki docs, but it appears wiki.synchro.net is down today.

    Could someone please reply?

    Thanks!

Are you using animation (cursor positioning) sequences? That could cause problems converting to .asc. Also, try using the "Block-Save" feature in TheDraw (alt-B if I recall), that helps to eliminate the possibility of any animation in the output .ans file.

Does ans2asc report any errors? Can you post the .ans file online for others to examine?

I will double-check for animation sequences in the file. I did use the block command when I saved it.

Will save the output and post the results.

    Thanks!

I just check, Wiki - Synchronet is up (it's 12:15 pm pacific time now)

We had a 5 hour power outage a couple of nights ago. My UPS only gives me about 20 minutes of life - just enough to get everything gracefully shutdown or run-through a brownout or very short blackout.

    Anyway, all is back up.

Well, it turns out I must have unknowingly saved an animation sequesnces. I did a block save in Ansi format and it converts to asc fine, now.

    Thank you.
