    Hey all,

I'm just going to come out and say it. I'm having a very bad lamer moment with setting up email on my BBS. What is the best way to do it? I've tried everything that I can think of, and have tried to follow the instructions with no luck at all.

What setup do you find the best?

Are you referring to Internet email?

What setup do you find the best?

It depends on your ISP, mostly.

What are you having troubles with, exactly (e.g. sending or receiving)?

    It depends on your setup.

A couple of things to check:
    1) Firewall port-forwards/pinholes are correct to receive mail.
    2) Insure that you ISP doesn't block outgoing email or you will need an
external hop that you can send mail to on an alternate port.

Setup the email on the BBS in accordance with the instruction, then go to another box and telnet to the ports needed to send/receive mail. Just
to check the ability to connect. If you get a heartbeat, then your email
may be set up correctly. However, you'll likely have router issues that you will have to overcome.
