Hi

I am finalising configuring Synchronet as a point (for start..) and I am currently receiving the TIC files which are being nicely processed by tickit and place in the right directory.
Now, I realised the zip files just sit in the destination and I am not sure whether there is anything else I have to do to impoirt the files into
the database?

I have tried the exec/addfiles application but I think it does not do anything with zipped/compressed files so it cannot find the DIZ file or anything
else as are compressed...

So, My question is: how everybody does the job? how have you configured this part?
Any more tips/Information?

Are you using Dir= or Path= in tickit.ini? If you want the files imported into your file areas you need to use Dir=FIDO-NODELIST or whatever your internal code for the area is. If you use Path= the files will be placed in the location specified but not imported.

In almost every case you'd want to use Dir=.

Or is something else happening?

Actually it does (will) if you use the -z option:

usage: addfiles code [.alt_path] [-opts] +list [desc_off] [size_off]
or: addfiles code [.alt_path] [-opts] file "description"

available opts:
-a import ASCII only (no extended ASCII)
-b synchronize database with file list (use with caution)
-c do not remove extra spaces from file description
-d delete list after import
-e do not import extended descriptions
-f include file date in descriptions
-t include today's date in descriptions
-i include added files in upload statistics
-n do not update information for existing files
-o update upload date only for existing files
-p compare file date with upload date for existing files
-u do not update upload date for existing files
-z check for and import FILE_ID.DIZ and DESC.SDI
-k keep original short description (not DIZ)
-s search directory for files (no file list)
-l <lib> specify library (short name) to Auto-ADD
-x <name> specify uploader's user name (may require quotes)

So, My question is: how everybody does the job? how have you configured this part?
Any more tips/Information?

yeah, I was using the command line and finding some issues.

I read the documentation several times (tickit) but I misunderstood the information at some point!
Now it became clear to methe difference between Dir and Path.
As I was expecting to have some automation Dir=[Area_File_internal_code] was what I needed to use.

Slowly getting there.
