Hi
I have a quick? for u i have a few diff nets on my win sbbs, and i am
the RC and NC for a few of them, so i get a few areafix request but evertime someone sends an areafix they get back every area i have on my board, and not just for the net there in, i have the echolist in the echolist area in echocfg but it is still sending them the whole list of all the areas on my bbs, and when they add the areas it will add them
to ALL the areas witch as we know having 1 node getting areas for say 8 diff nets is not a good thing :), im sure im probly not turning
something on in echocfg to get it to use the echolist in the echolist
area but im not sure what it is, any help with this would be very
greatful thanks

Easy solution...
In ECHOCFG, there is a section where you can put all the separate
you get from the different FTN networks. When you enter one, you canassign
it a 'key'. That key can be used in the Linked Nodes section to limitthat
specific node to the echolist associated with that 'key'. You can use multiple keys per linked node.

It sounds like you're not using the EchoList Keys feature to limit accessto
specific echolists.

Hi
OK i desided to test it mysalf, between my 2 bbs, one that is the main host for my net, and the other witch is a link, so i sent an areafix from the sec bbs to the main, and the areafix was recived and tossed and sent back, but the areafix came back with all the areas on the system and not just the ones for that net, and i have all the nets i am a member of in the echolist section, and all net area set to a diff key, is there an option i need to enable in echocfg that im missing?

I'm guessing now that you have "Allow Nodes to Add Areas from Area File"
to "Yes". See http://wiki.synchro.net/util:sbbsecho#echocfg for details.

OK.. next, in echocfg, under echomail settings, do you have the Allow
to add from Areafile toggled to no or yes? I have mine set as NO sothere is
no way if they do a %list they'll see all the areas I have in myareas.bbs.
They'll only see the areas I ahve assigned them via the 'key' they get.
