Can anyone send me in the right direction to show a message, screen or so whe H>an user logon on a particular date?
For eg on 1 february for valentine's day, 1 april for april foolsday, etc...
If you mean for various holidays, I set up an event in the Windows 7
Task Scheduler to run a batchfile to copy the desired holiday screen to C:\SBBS\TEXT\NEWS1.ANS, to run with the EZLOGON module. I originally ran
a Windows program called Kirby Alarm to do that...and before that, ran a program called "Tech Scheduler".
I mainly use the ones that were created and copyrighted by Bob Snyder
in 1987...but he encouraged Sysops to use them on his BBS. I also added
in the ANSI screens from the HOLIDAYS program for Virtual Advanced (VADV32)...and some I created for Memoral Day and 9/11, severe weather preparedness, and the BBS's birthday. These are the first ANSI screen
that appears to users after they logon. These are in the files
MONTHALL.ZIP in the ANSI/RIP Gaphics files area, and HOLIDAYS.ZIP in the
VADV32 files area...both available for all users via anonymous FTP.
The only specific holidays that I don't do screens for (since the
dates change every year) are Ash Wednesday, and Easter itself. If you
want a list of dates and screens that I use, I can send that in another message.
However, with the stormy weather of tornado season lately, the BBS has
been down more than up. It looks to be calm for a few days, but storms
return by Friday the 13th of April, and may last over that weekend.
