• Temporary Ban

From Mojo@1:103/705 to All on Tue Mar 21 15:03:40 2017
Where does Synchronet store the temporary Ban information when ti bans a name or address? I see this show up in my terminal server screen when it happens to a connection.

    Thanks
    Mojo

Temporary bans are just stored in memory (e.g. RAM), not files (e.g. on disk).

I believe they are stored in memory, I've never seen them written to anything.

Cool, thanks Digital man. That explains why I could not find it anywhere.

Where does Synchronet put Temporary Bans? I seem to keep temp banning myself via FTP which bans me from the entire site but I cannot find where to unban myself ... or even stop FTP from banning me in the first place :(

I did not find my ip address in ip.can

Where does Synchronet put Temporary Bans?

    In memory.

I seem to keep temp banning
myself via FTP which bans me from the entire site but I cannot find where to unban myself

If you're running the Synchronet console (sbbs/sbbs.exe), the 'A' (capital 'A') command will clear the failed login list. All other methods of running sbbs require a restart to clear the failed login list.

... or even stop FTP from banning me in the first place :(

    Look at your logs.
