• BinkiT to Argus Hub

From Geo@1:103/705 to Digital Man on Fri Mar 30 21:55:07 2018
    Hiya Rob,

I have been using BinkD normally for my FTN needs, but I thought I would have another crack
at using the new BinkiT functionality today.

I have configured it as per the wiki, And it seems to connect and Authenticate to my HUB at
    ftn.sysgod.org (3:712/848).

I then send a test Areafix netmail to see if it sends pkt's ok and as before the packet just
    remains in /sbbs/fido/outbound.

I do see an error now when I run exec/jsexec binkit -p manually. Something to do with
Encryption Required. Maybe I have missed something in the config?

    See below.

    Any thoughts???

The peer doesn't support encryption. You need to set "AllowUnecrypted=true" for that link in your binkit.ini file.

Thanks Rob tha fixed it 8-)

Now I have one other interesting thing. What is a .try packet?

I seem to have one in my outbound directory and the HUB is saying

    Unsupported Flow file type

    Thx

Sorry to have been bugging you so much this week after years of silence 8-)

Now I have one other interesting thing. What is a .try packet?

It's not a packet, just a control file. It's documented in this spec: http://ftsc.org/docs/fts-5005.003

I seem to have one in my outbound directory and the HUB is saying

It's likely left-over from previous mailer as BinkIT doesn't create/use them. You could just safely delete the *.try files.

    Thanks Rob

BinkiT seems to be all working very nicely 8-)

I have also set up TickiT, I ran it manually and it worked perfectly, So I will see how it goes automatically tommorow when I recv my next buch of files from the HUB. 8-)

    Very Exciting 8-))

I can't wait to try and see if I can use the Areafix functions. 8-)
