  • Guest account settings

    Is there a method by which to re-appy a setting or series of settings to a user account?

    Specifically, the Guest account. Folks will log in using the Guest account and change up settings for default scans and user shell, editor, etc.

    That's fine, I want them to be able to explore and test a few things. But, I'd like some way to 'reset' those back to a series of defaults when they log off.

    Doesn't look like uedit does anything from the command line, am I on my own to edit the user.dat file or might someone alrady have a mthod for doing somethinglike this from a command line that they'd be willing to share?

    Use JavaScript. See newuser.js for an example of how to setup the Guest account and you can reset things similarly upon logoff via a logout event (SCFG->External Programs->Fixed Events->Logout Event).
