    Ken,

It was bad there for a few weeks where it was happening all the time. It has K>gotten better, but I knew if it got bad again I would be super annoyed. Again K>I hope the fix works out well.

I just downloaded and installed it, and it works well. I noted an
ERROR message in the terminal server of the Synchronet Control Panel
(because of the querynotfound error)...but then 3 INFO entries to do the alternate search, as you noted, and it worked.

The only "restrictions" I put on the door were for it to occur at
Logon Only (because of the pricing plan of hits per day with Weather Underground), ANSI graphics, and and that Guest Logons not see it. The
Solar Data deal has the same requirements as SyncWx, but it also is in
the Ham Radio and Weather Doors.

Thanks for your work on it.

    Daryl

Good to hear it! That's exactly what it should be doing when the Wunderground query fails an IP lookup.

Good to hear it is working with the backup.

It had been acting funky, as you had noted...but with your "fix", it's working. Because I've got a "free pricing plan" from Weather
Underground, I've got it set to "Logon Only", as this plan limits the
    number of connects to it.

And, what the weather pattern is showing from later today into next
Friday, shows several periods of thunderstorms and heavy rain. Both
flooding and severe weather could be an issue...but any threat of
thunderstorms means downtime for the BBS. So, I likely will be offline
    much of next week.

    Tim,

Hopefully the fix is a good one and doesn't cause more problems than it fixes.

Thanks so much, I will be getting that updated soon.

If you're talking about SyncWx, it's working great over here. However,
the forecast that it (and what the National Weather Service) shows...is
a period of several days of thunderstorms with heavy rain. The models
are still having a hard time over total amounts, but with storms every
day into late next week, my BBS will be offline more than online, to
    protect from lightning damage.

Maybe I can catch up on some sleep...until a nearby lightning strike
about jolts me out of bed!! :P

    Ken,

That might be what's missing. However, it really should have defaulted to K>English for the language even if it is missing or blank (I tested both K>scenarios). But, add it and let me know if that fixes it.

It's working fine over here. It takes a moment to load up, but at
least it's getting the data when I logon. Before, it kept generating the
"query not found" error, and it exited. It still is showing that error
(Weather Underground's scripts, etc. must be screwed up), but your "fix"
is allowing it to work. I unzipped the file from GitHub into the
..\xtrn\syncwx directory, and all is working fine.

However, with thunderstorms moving in Sunday, and lasting into Friday,
my BBS may be offline much of the upcoming week. So, I'm hurriedly
trying to get BBS work done before I have to pull the plug to protect
from lightning. It's like an ungrounded Faraday Cage around here during thunderstorms...the large amount of trees, along with metal light poles
in the apartment complex...may have something to do with that. :P

But, as long as I don't lose power, I'll make do...even if the BBS is offline. I'm high enough where flooding isn't an issue...but with
Arkansas being in the eastern part of Tornado Alley, and the western
part of Dixie Alley, things can get very worrisome around here this time
of year. Last week, in Cullman, Alabama, a record setting hailstone of 5
and one quarter inches in diameter, was observed.

I'm really glad to hear it is working as intended, Daryl. Hopefully Wunderground figures out whatever is causing that error. But, until then, this hopefully makes syncWXremix more reliable.

If you notice anything else that causes issues, let me know.

    Ken,

Also, to test externally from your network, you might want to try one of the K>ftelnet proxies http://my.ftelnet.ca/. I do that quite a bit when testing

That's what I set up, an embedded FTelnet link. I've switched to
SyncTerm for the telnet client (it's much better than MTel), but if I
want to show the BBS via the web, I have that option.
