• System Upgrade

From Mojo@1:103/705 to Digital Man on Tue Mar 6 14:32:24 2018
    Hi Digital Man,

I did a update to my system today of the following files:

    in the load directory:
    acmev2.js
    cnfdefs.js
    cnflib.js
    ftelnethelper.js
    portdefs.js

    in the exec directory
    avatars.js
    binkit.js
    gopherservice.js
    sbbslist.js
    websocketservice

and then I also did the sbbs_dev.zip

Now after having done those updates when I try to shut down the bbs for any reason it starts to shut down and then in the window it says waiting for events to stop and it sets there for a while and then it finally shuts down. Did I mess something up when I did these updates today?

If so I did make a backup and I can restore ti back to what it was before the updates for today. But I wanted to get your thoughts on this before I do a restore.

    Thanks
    Mojo

I've seen that with my BBS for a while. I always thought that was normal.. There may indeed be events going on in the background that it has to wait for before shutting down. Did you not see that before?

I wouldn't worry about it. It probably means you have a connection
holding a port open somewhere. This happened to me the other day playing
with the new nttps stuff. Once the connection goes away it shuts down,
just takes a little bit longer.

I don't think so. What's going on in the Events window/log while this "waiting" is happening?

This also happens with my BBS, there are so many incoming HTTP and TELNET connections sometimes it takes a bit to get a clear socket.

When I look in the events window there is nothing going on. This make me wonder if I broke something by doing this update.

What was the *last* thing that was going on in the events window then (while this "waiting" is happening)?

I have tried to get it to do this again today and it will not do it now. This is a good thing, but if and when it does it again I will get you what it is doing and send you a message here in regards to it. Thanks for your time...

we used to see similar over here on max's system... it was apparently a bug of some kind because a code update and new binaries took care of it once it was posted about... it is possible a new bug has crept in in that area...
