• Keeping some usernames reserved

From Simulant@1:103/705 to All on Sat Mar 3 21:27:09 2018
Hi I just wondered if Synchronet can have some usernames reserved so that new users can't register them?

For exmaple my chat Guru is called Roland, so it would be good if a new user can't have the username Roland. Also my BBS is for Amstrad computers so I could have a few general terms and names unavailable such as "Amstrad" or "CPC" etc (model names and such). It doesn't matter too much as I don't mind a user having any name, but it just keeps things a bit less confusing if some are reserved I thought.

Thanks if anyone knows if this is an opiton. :)

Yes, that's what the text/name.can file is used for.

You can put disallowed usernames in the text/name.can file.

you only need to sign up as those names and then use them or not... if they are
created, no one else can have them...
