Anyone here interested in offering this guy a Fidonet feed? Binkit wouldbe
doing the heavy lifting. My feed has been silent for 2 weeks now, and maybe
dead.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bill. I haven't been able to connect for ages. I will try again in a bit. I miss the filefeed.
Im trying to get fidonet setup on my bbs. Everything is fine until it tries to send my netmail app. binkit connects fine but then it says unable to open the .out file and not sent. Any ideas?

please post the output of your sbbsecho where it packed that message to the destination... please post the output of your binkit log where it attempted to deliver the out file...Packing netmail (1.msg) from William Williams (1:19/9999) to Marc Lewis (1:19/0) attr 0181, subject: fidonet app

yeah, sounds like a classic permissions problem... to make things easy,
i run everything as the same user and never use root... the BBS and mailer(s) are started when the system boots and then they drop privs to the normal user privs after they have opened the necessary low range ports... since everything is running as the same user and the entire
BBS directory tree is owned by that user, there's no problems...
IF, on the other hand, you are using (eg) var/spool/something for
mailer transfers, that can cause problems that are a little harder to
work around but can be done...
Havent had much luck setting up Fidonet. My old net 322 seems to be defunct and my fresh set up cant seem to send any netmail. Tried sending to my RC 1:16/0 but it says system not found. Same when trying to send to the NC
