Python in synchronet would be fun:)

Ok I just redid My raspberry PI 3 with debian stretch and will play around with Synchronet on the PI soon, it occured to me that if linux versions of Synchronet could hook to python that would be so much fun to play with.

Why? We already went through all this hard work to get JS integrated with sbbs. Why not just use that?

Just a thought since I am learning python and python is already integreated into the Raspian Stretch OS.
I guess I could learn JS.
I am installing Synchronet On my Raspberry PI 3 right now.

You can run Python scripts as externals, if you want.

And Python store data in the JSON DB, which is something I do for Sports Stats. The front-end/interface is written in JS, but the scrapers are all Python.

I'm playing around with python so far just simple stuff.
Might try out JS to see if I like it.
Been awhile since I've done any scripting.

You could probably have some fun trying to write some external door programs for Synchronet in Python. Otherwise, writing a small BBS in Python from scratch might be a fun project to learn how to write network servers

I was thinking more on the lines of porting a couple of games, not really wanting to write a BBS program, My brother wrote a BBS program in the 80's for the Color Computer 2, Just within the last year I found the dot matrix printout of it in my garage:) I then scanned it into a pdf file and sent him a copy.
    I'ts the only known copy.

Got synchronet mostly built on my PI3 but ran into an error, this weekend I will try it again.
