I think I just ran into the same error on SlyEdit that I did about
a week ago...

Node 1 !Javascript c:\sbbs\exec\SlyEdit.js line 1045: TypeError: gEditLines[gEditLinesIndex] is undefined.

I thought I had obtained an updated version of SlyEdit, but I guess
not. Looks like I'm going to have to change message editors (sigh!).

Which version of SlyEdit are you using? 1.60 is the latest version I have released.

What were you doing when this error occurred? In the current version of SlyEdit, line 1045 happens right after you close the quote window. Did you just finish quoting a message when this happened? I actually put a fix in place on that line which would have affected wide terminals (more than 80 characters wide), and in my testing, I had not seen that error occur on that line. Any information you can provide would be helpful.

Due to the recent reported issues with SlyEdit, I have reverted SlyEdit back to version 1.54 in the Synchronet CVS as well as the download available on my BBS. 1.54 was the version just before support for changing the text color was added. So you can replace your SlyEdit .js files in your exec directory (SlyEdit.js, SlyEdit_DCTStuff.js, SlyEdit_IceStuff.js, and SlyEdit_Misc.js) with SlyEdit 1.54. Also if you got updated copies of the SlyEdit color configuration files in the ctrl directory, you'll need to revert those as well (I have reverted those in the Synchronet CVS).

Are you suggesting we avoid 1.60. :( I like the changes you have made. I just downloaded it, and was going to update later today.

Well in that particular place in SlyEdit, the error would have happened when closing the quote window, not when typing.

Unfortunately, 1.60 seems to have some issues that still need to be worked out. Daryl Stout has reporeted an issue that seems to be with quoting that would cause SlyEdit to quit with an error. I also tried SlyEdit 1.60 on his BBS and saw it quit with a different error when trying to post a message. Oddly I hadn't seen those in testing on my BBS, but if there are such issues cropping up on other BBSes, I think it would be better to have a stable message editor.

I just downloaded the new sbbs_dev and sbbs_run files this morning.
I'm finally back up after a stormy night here. We took several close
lightning strikes...which literally shook the building...they were that
close!!

Well in that particular place in SlyEdit, the error would have happened when N>closing the quote window, not when typing.

I must've done the control sequence to shut it down, instead of
"ending quoting", and it barfed. Your guess is as good as mine as this
point.
