I noticed I am still unable to see the other Nightfox's avatar on Dove-Net.. I tried running jsexec.js -v import so I could see verbose messages, but it didn't show any errors. I'm not sure what the issue could be..
For the last 2 or 3 days I only see my own and digital man's avatar. I don't see your avatar on your post but I did before that as well as a few others.
When was the last time you saw an avatar for me?

I'm not seeing one for either of you (and come to think of it I don't think I have for a while). The last avatar I saw for you was just yellow text that said "This is my avatar". Something wrong with export/import/distribution for DM to look at, I guess.

I think it was the duplicate message detection, which should be effectively worked-around now in the latest avatars.js. I didn't have this problem with

Using smbutil, I was able to list the messages in my syncdata sub-board, but when I tried to read one of them, the smbutil didn't show anything..

You should be able to read the SYNCDATA sub-board on your BBS too (assuming you have the access requirements setup like shown here: http://wiki.synchro.net/network:dove-net

Well there might have been some other issue with the avatars.js script at the time it processed that message. One thing you could do is clear the [avatars] import_ptr value in your data/subs/*syncdata.ini file and run AVAT-IN (or the equivalent command-line via jsexec) again. Eventually, if that user remains active, his avatar will be exported again to SYNCDATA, likely at 7 day intervals.

I updated avatar_lib.js and I am seeing avatars again. ATM I am seeing "this is my avatar" on your messages.
All seems to be good now.. :)
I chose a different avatar (a guitar) a few days ago. Digital Man said he saw my updated avatar on his system.
I see "This is my avatar" on your post that I am replying to. I saw the guitar on your posts earlier today in the programming c++ area. Those posts look like they originate on VERT.
Why I'm not sure.

Those messages are auto-posted on VERT when someone commits something to the Synchronet CVS repository. And on Vertrauen, I chose the guitar for my avatar, so you probably have that avatar set up for my "nightfox" account on VERT. On my BBS, I also chose the guitar most recently, so ideally that's what you should be seeing on my posts from Digital Distortion.
Those messages are auto-posted on VERT when someone commits something to the Synchronet CVS repository. And on Vertrauen, I chose the guitar for my avatar, so you probably have that avatar set up for my "nightfox" account on VERT. I gues it does look a bit different. :) I hadn't noticed that. I think I chose them both from the 'Musical Things' collection. I've updated my .bin files from CVS a few times, so perhaps mine on DIGDIST is from one of the updates..

I spoke too soon, I reset the pointers, and now some avatars from other systems are showing.
I suspect this will be updated with your new avatar when an update msg
arrives here.
Make sure your .js files have/are being update pretty regularly. This feature is still pretty new and so there have been some quirks to work out, as usual.
