  • Tickit logs

    where does tickit keep its log info so i know what its doing??

    If you run it as recommended (timed event command-line: ?tickit), then it's log output will go into your even thread window or syslog output (on *nix).

    If you want tickit to log to its own file, you can run it a bit differntly using jsexec (I assume), like so: "jsexec tickit.js 2>> ../data/tickit.log", executed in the background with shell.

    Hi Digital Man

    Thanks ya i plan on doing the timed event but right now im trying to get it
    all setup and been getting crc and other errors so well i work these error
    out i kinda needed to know what it was doing so, anyway thanks it worked i
    got the info i needed, well i got u here here is a few lines from my ini
    file

    i have a ? if thats ok first how do i get tickit to announce new files to a
    msg area? im sure i will have more but thats a start anyway thanks agian.

    Hi

    I must of done something worng it looks like i got it tossing the tics but
    its only trying to send it to 1 of the links my up link witch has already
    seen it
    Parsing /sbbs/inbound//bb4d5d2b.tic
    Moving file from /sbbs/inbound/nodelist.z39 to
    /sbbs/files/fidonet/DAILYLIS/.
    Deleting TIC file '/sbbs/inbound//bb4d5d2b.tic'.
    Node 1:261/38 has already seen this.

    and it have the other links listed in the tickit.ini file as show below

    I didn't write tickit and I haven't run it yet. I'm not sure it has an "announce" feture or not. Looking at http://wiki.synchro.net/util:tickit page, I don't see any mention of new file announcements. You could use a combination of the filelist utility and postmsg.js (via jsexec) to post new file announcements. It's not FTN/tick specific, but it doesn't reallyi need to be either.

    Ya i know u didn't write it I belive it was dice or something like that i
    was just wondering if u know anything gen about it thats all i will work on trying to figure out a way to do the annocements thanks for the Idah.
