• User And Sysop File Areas

From Daryl Stout@1:103/705 to All on Thu Dec 7 09:51:22 2017
I set up the file area for Uploads to Sysop as C:\SBBS\DATA\DIRS\SYSOP and the User To User Transfers as C:\SBBS\DATA\DIRS\USER -- but for each one, I get (and users have reported) error messages of "No Sysop File Area Found" or "No User File Area Found".

    What am I doing wrong??

Have you added anyhing to the directories yet?

IMHO, I would put the FILES unders a different directory, and let ../data/dirs only store the configuration files.

after adding the file areas. populate them either by, uploadloading. addfiles util, or the ;upload command.

    Rob,

Did you follow the directions here: DM>http://synchro.net/docs/file_section.html#CreatingUser-to-UserDirectory
    ?

The "glitch" was apparently having to set the "short name" to
"Uploads" for the default uploads directory (for any files), and to
"User" for the user to user transfers.

I have the UPLOADS for all other areas set to level 99, with uploads
for User to level 50...with Uploads to Sysop set to level 50, but
    downloads set to level 99.

    Tim,

Have you added anyhing to the directories yet?

    Yes.

IMHO, I would put the FILES unders a different directory, and let ../data/dir K>only store the configuration files.

after adding the file areas. populate them either by, uploadloading. addfiles K>util, or the ;upload command.

Well, the glitch appears that I should've had the Sysop directory
"short name" as "Uploads", and the User To User Transfer Directory
"short name" as "User". I'll try that, and see if it works. A user had
tried to send a file to Sysop, and upload to my personal box, but the
system wouldn't let them do either one.
