well it look like something happen to my bbs computer, it's going have to wait until sunday (12/10/17) sometime in the evening, being I can't get in to check on it and I know it not the dsl modem, being I can get into another computer at home, while I am on vaction.

What is a vaction? You seem to do this like once every couple of months, but I have no idea what you're actually doing! ;)

I'd love to actually know what a vacation feels like.. If I went on vacation, I'm sorry.. the BBS would be on its own.. I would'nt even
give it a second thought. Although I would be sure to straightwire the computer switch and macke sure I create a watchdog to keep the BBS up.

the one in oct. 2017, was just to get out of town, my dad died on oct.

I've learned "the hard way" that if I try to work on the BBS when I'm tried, I'm surely going to screw things up, big time.
Ah, yes...the Sysop's Curse. Happens every time you go on vacation,
the BBS comes down with "separation anxiety", and crashes. One Sysop
joked that "he put a picture of himself in front of the monitor, to fool the computer into thinking he was there!!". <G>
I'm really surprised how often it happens - More often than not, the BBS somehow tends to go down when I'm out traveling. One time, it wasn't even due to anything on the PC or my network - I heard in the news that the power went down the day after I left due to a squirrel messing around in a transformer near where I was living. And then that happened again soon after I got back.
But *that* particular squirrel won't be doing that again.
