Anyone have a functioning Arrowbridge II on Synchronet in Linux using Dosemu?
I could use some pointers.. Having zero luck with it for who knows what reason.

    Thanks

    I do.

    Start-up Directory: ../xtrn/ab2
    Command Line: AB2.EXE /NODE%# /PD:\
    Multiple Concurrent Users: Yes
Intercept I/O: No (Note on this: I had to set it to "Console" to get arrow keys to work)
    Drop file type: door.sys
Place Drop file in: Node Directory

AB2 setup, make sure your nodes are set to Use Fossil. everything else can be "0".
Your arrowbridge II path will be E:\ab2 (assuming your files are in /sbbs/xtrn/ab2)

I use X00 as a fossil driver, but you likely can use BNU or whatever else works. it's just called from my emusetup.bat in /sbbs/ctrl

Let me know if that works for you.

I did have it working at one time... have'nt had time to get it back going again.. it does kinda like to be tricky.. but my setup was for league10 which made it that much more complex (not too bad) I've attempted setting it back up again and it does'nt seem as easy as it did before.. sure I'm just missing something somewhere..

I was going to revisit it anyway, so if I get a chance tonight and get it going I'll let you know.

are you doing a standalne setup or for league play?

I'm going to presume you are using the same dosemu setup I am with SBBS, don't think there are no others.

here is a quick a dirty setup without league, to do that you can easily set the paths up if needed.. (kinda)

unzip the ab2 archive into the /sbbs/xtrn/ab2 directory

    fireup dosemu from the commandline

cd into the \sbbs\xtrn\ab2 directory. in my case sbbs was mounted on the D: drive because dosemu mounts my home folder under D: when not running under sbbs

    run ab2tools setup

setup every node to use fossil, be sure to save it, don't worry about the other settings in nodes setup.

    set your game options

oh yeah, setup you BBS details, drop file type DOOR.SYS

heres where it gets a bit weird..

go into paths, set your ab2 path to whatever path you are in NOW, eg: D:\SBBS\XTRN\AB2\

    then save and quit

    now run ab2tools create

    then run install.bat

then go BACK into ab2tools setup and change your AB2 path to E:\AB2\

    save and exit

use edit to create a batch file

    E:\
    AB2.EXE /NODE%1 /PD:\
    EXITEMU

save the batch file.. mine is run.bat

    here is my scfg settings..

    Name: Arrowbridge 2
    Internal Code: AB2
    Start Up Dir: /sbbs/xtrn/ab2/
    Command Line: run.bat %#
    Multiple users: YES
    NO
    NO
    Use Shell YES
    NO
    NO
    NO
    Drop File (R) GAP DOOR.SYS
    Place in: Node Dir

    Hope this works for you.

How did you get it to do the "big bang" to create dungeon dirs, etc before setting up?

the only way I could do it is how I explained in an earlier message.

Thank you very much! was about to pull out my hair.. Sometimes I wish i was running a windows machine just to make installing dos games easier.. But this works perfectly now.

Do you mind if I post this information on the Synchronet Wiki to have it easy to find for future peoples attempts?

    Thanks again

You mean run the install.bat file? All I did was fire up dosemu in a terminal, then:
    lredir E: linux\fs/sbbs/xtrn
    E:
    cd ab2
    install.bat

If you don't have a working global install of dosemu, you could probably convert the install.bat file to a bash script pretty easily. If you're not comfortable with that, let me know and I'll convert it real quick.

    No, not at all.

I do, but I tend to always like to make life harder on myself and used defaults instead of redirecting the ab2 drive to drive E: before running install.

it was directed as D:, install.bat still worked, but it was giving file not found errors when trying create step, thus me gaving to dip into the ab2tools setup twice to change paths.. I presume just a harder way to the same solution.

please take note of that on the wiki deepend :)

If I could have figured a way to keep running my DOS/Desqview box while
easily having it available via telnet, I would be doing so. Heck, if I
could have figured out how to make VMODEM more "bot resistant," I would
still be running under OS/2 for the same reason. So much easier. :)
