When I veiw the HTML parsed version of the SBL, I notice that there is one BBS in particular that is listed 4+ times and maybe a couple more that is listed multiple times.
Why is this? is the sysop creating accounts on seprate BBS systems and posting their BBSs in the SBL under different accoutns?
It gives these BBS systems an advantage over the BBS's that are posted only once like they are supposed to be.
Maybe there should be some more dupe checking put in place or something?

I'm not sure. Can you point to an example?
There should be already for each entry requires a unique 'name' field. If someone creates a duplicate entry but with a slightly different name (e.g. adds "BBS" to the end), I suppose I could try hard to detect those types of dupes.

"The Universal Joint is listed 4 times on this page"
Same information, same telnet address, same dialin phone number.

The dupe checking is only done on the BBS name. I guess I could add a duplicate hostname or IP address check as well.

It is sad that you have to do this. one would thing a SysOp would have enough courtesy to not do stupid crap like this,

TBH, they probably didn't even have a clue that it would end up with multiple entries like that...

well.. I can tell you it was not on purpose. And piss off for jumping to conclusions that it was done on purpose.
I completely expected that if I updated an entry it would not create a completely new record. There is only one entry on my system for my BBS.
create a new entry... how was I to know updating would create duplicate entries and disturb the balance of the Internet? After 'updating' there was still just one entry on my system, where the 'updating' took place.
I certainly wish this was brought to my attention directly instead of the insinuation it was done intentionally for some nefarious purpose.
