Hi all,
I'm having an odd issue with the new message scan missing a couple of boards consistently, as if the boards are set to not scan in my personal config. The boards for
some reason were set to not scan shortly after I set the boards up, and I figured I must
have just accidentally whacked a couple of keys and shut them off. However, after
turning them back on (and having checked several times since), the new scan still is
omitting them.
The options on the bases are default, so they're On for Default On for New Scan and
Default On for Your Scan, and the ACLs are default (nothing extra enabled/disabled for
them compared to the group they're in).
Using a test account, I see that these same 2 boards have defaulted to Off in the user's
new scan config. I turn the bases On, go and do a new scan, and the new scan is skipping
those boards.
Anything I could have done to create this seemingly odd behaviour?
Do the sub-boards appears when use commands to display or switch message areas? Are you using any custom message reading modules/scripts?
Is it possible you're confusing the new-scan configuration (&N from the main menu in the default shell) with your-scan configuration (&S from the main menu)?

Ah yes, I am using the DDMsgReader external modules... sorry, didn't even think about the
scanning coming from that module. The ReadMe for the package doesn't say particularly
where one should go for support - is it normal for one to get support for it in this sub?

It's N that I am doing, but I guess the behaviour is slightly different with the command
running through the module?

Right. Is it easy to diable the message reader module and just try the built-in new-scan and see if the problem persists?
Off the top of my head, I can't think of a reason why it would be skipping sub-boards in a newscan. How were you able to tell that it's skipping sub-boards? Are there new messages in those sub-boards that you know about and are not seeing during a newscan? I'm curious since I haven't seen it skip sub-boards on my BBS, so I'm wondering what might be different for you. Are you sure the sub-boards are configured the same (in SCFG) and the scan settings are enabled for those sub-boards for the user account?
