At this point I have honestly no idea what the hell happened. I compiled/updated SBBS/sbbsecho on the 31st, and added a couple echos manually to my areas.bbs by hand. I got wrapped up in other stuff for the last week and when I went to check today, my system had barfed all of my outgoing echomessages to a bunch of different (seemingly random) echos.

SBBSECHO apparently stopped doing this after the 2nd (the same time my uplink rightfully paused my feed), but I'm still at a loss as to exactly what caused it.

Your sbbsecho.log file should include all the clues necessary to find out why.

Apologies for the spam, if you're a denizen of various fidonet echos, you'll probably see an apology from me in an echo or two as well in the coming days.

If you want to send me your sbbsecho.ini, sbbsecho.log, and areas.bbs files I can probably peice together what happened. If there is a flaw in my software which caused it, I would certainly want to know and fix it asap. Thanks,

In my mail in I do run sbbsecho twice... once with the -d option so I can have htick look at any incoming netmail addressed to it and then once with no options to toss any netmail htick generates. I guess I could take out the 2nd instance but being you fixed things up it doesn't seem to be doing it. I'm good... :)

apparently mike wasn't the only one operating in that toss-and-scan-at-once mode... luke's SpaceSST seems to also be spewing a little and i just finally got my HUB system cleaned up after running out of disk space handling mcgarrity's stuff...

I think when I was setting up binkd, I just called sbbsecho when new mail arrived and let it do its thing. Since I use GoldEd as my primary fidonet reader, I figured I might as well have it import/export all in one shot.

(Fun fact: GoldEd REALLY does not like my DoveNet echos, but it forces me to log into the BBS one way or another to read mail there :) )
