I'm using the newest version 1.108

newslink.js gets decode_news_body from load/newsutil.js. What version of load/newsutil.js do you have? Double check that you don't have an old version of newsutil.js in your exec directory as well.

I have version 1.27 which is the same as in the cvs. Dated 1/10/14 but I did see copies of newsutil.js in the exec folder. Why it would work previously is beyond me but all is good.

You might want to run "jsexec update.js" as its purpose is to fix exactly that issue.
