Hello Digital Man!

I've just pulled al all-nighter trying to figure this damn thing out. In Timed
Events I have for Fidoin:

%!sbbsecho%. -LES!

I have it enabled and the start-up path is correct even though I shouldn't need
it.

Now when binkd receives a pkt, it creates FIDOIN.NOW and puts it in the data folder and nothing happens. Zilch

This was working two days ago perfectly.

I'm starting sbbs as a non-root being I'm not running the BBS and I'm just starting SERVICES in sbbs.ini (not sure that is even needed)

when I start the system using ./sbbs this is what I get...

Now, if I do a ! at the menu for command line, I type: /home/pi/sbbs/exec/./sbbsecho -LES! and it will toss the pkt's properly.

I'm totally at a loss. I figured something screwed the pooch so I rm'd the entire folder three times and re-installed. Still the same damn thing.

I'm a tired puppy... :/

Timed Events are run by the Terminal Server. If you have the Terminal Server disable (in the [BBS] section of your sbbs.ini file), then no timed event will ever run.

But if you're only running SBBSecho, you don't need to run sbbs at all anyway.

As I said in the 2nd message, I took the semaphore out of the equation and decided to use binkd's EXEC option to rum sbbsecho standalone. Works perfectly. It only took me a night to finally figure that out so I consider myself lucky and finally putting my deductive reasoning skills to good work.
