    Rob,

The second field of each line in an SBBSecho areas.bbs file is an echo tag. DM>FidoNet standard, echo tags cannot contain spaces. This is not an SBBSecho DM>problem.

OK, I figured that out...but I'm still getting bad packets, and having routing problems. I had set the other entries up like the rest of them,
but it still isn't working right. I guess I'll have to start from
    scratch again.

    Ian,

I sorry to hear of you troubles with you mum and brother and wife,
I hope things a getting better for you and at least you have your
    interests, hobbies, etc

My Mom is still doing pretty good for 91 -- but I do all the driving, shopping, etc. for her -- and even help with laundry. She has arthritis
so bad in her right hand, that I may soon have to help feed her.

I hope is getting better now and he enjoys his short rides

Sadly, he has gotten worse. The vibration of the motorcycle down the
road (never mind all the pot-holes), really takes a toll on him.

yes not all people like using the computer, special older people

My late father HATED using it...as does my brother. Yet, my Mom loves
it, to keep in touch with family. And, I use it for the BBS, for
ham radio applications, and for some websites.

Okay, I have sent a another test netmail message to see if you have fixed it

I have to set that back up. I haven't been on the BBS in several days.
I got a clean bill of health for being over bronchitis...but may soon
    need abdominal hernia surgery.

were do I changed the FTP access levels , so I can do the same.

That's with the GUEST account. There is a guest.js that you can
execute as Sysop, and it will create a Guest Account. Then, you can
    adjust those settings as desired.

yes well yours would be better than mine, but a lease I am trying to
thank the sysps that have help me with my BBS

I have a bulletin online, entitled "Want To Be A Sysop?? Read This!!".
It has several files in one, including:

    1) Definition Of A Twit -- courtesy of Grant Bierman. This does not
necessarily reflect the opinions of the Sysop, but it comes close. <G>

    2) You Want To Be A Sysop?? -- courtesy of Tom Ezell.

    3) The Thankless Job -- courtest of Kris Lewis.

    4) Caring For Pet Sysops -- courtesy of Fred Hunt.

    5) The Sysop of a BBS -- a poem I wrote.

Some of the items are cute, but sadly, some are true...with what goes on...and I've been Sysoping for over 25 years now.

    Daryl

    Ian,

I am only doing the email, plus the ham radio and weather bulletins
on the BBS, while I fight bronchitis.

    Okay, I hope you win

With being part time caregiver for my 91 year old Mom, I need to. My
younger brother, who was nearly killed in a freak motorcycle wreck not 3
months after my wife died nearly 10 1/2 years ago, is in worse shape
than I am. We were raised in the same home, and are the same
gender...but, other than that, our interests, hobbies, etc. are as
    different as night and day.

The only "hobby" he has is "his motorcycle". But, he is so bummed up
from the arthritis after the wreck (he also had to have ankle, shoulder,
and neck surgery), that he can't ride long distances anymore.

While I spend a lot of my time with the computer...with things related
to the BBS, ham radio, and square dancing...he's like our late
    father...he HATES computers!!

I sent a netmail the same day, seen it go, but must of when into space travel S>same were, must of put the wrong number or name, or not setup netmail the rig S>way, sorry

No problem. I've been having problems with SBBSEcho. I discovered in
the second field in the AREAS.BBS file that there MUST be an underscore
_ character instead of a space...or SBBSEcho will barf. This morning, I
saw from the log "stray packets"...so, I looked at the SBBSECHO.INI
file, and it had 2 lines I hadn't seen before -- directories for inbound
and outbound with the entry. So, I've put them there, and now the
packets should move smoothly between SBBSEcho and IREX.

okay cool, I logged in and did a sysop command and changed guest to level 40 S>and added
T in Restrictions and saved worked but I am now getting guest/shell so I am S>hoping
they cannot do any thing to my computer, I now you gave me the list of comman S>but what would you put in Exemptions/restrictions and what is the command lin S>to run user user edit per shortcut on desktop, thanx

For my GUEST account (the same for unverified users), here's what I
have on the exemptions and restrictions:

    Exemptions: DGLPTX
    Restrictions: ABCEFGJKMNPRUVW

This is taken care of within SCFG.

Details on those are in the original SBBS docs, or probably now with wiki.synchro.net

Once they are verified, they change to:

    Exemptions: CDJPQUX
    Restrictions: None

That's taken care of within TELVAL, the Telnet Email Verifier.

Since I have ham radio related items on the system, some that are
EXCLUSIVELY for licensed ham radio operators, I added the Flag "H"
(without the quotes). This makes sure that unlicensed users don't get
into the areas. There are some ham radio items that are available for
all users, however...and those don't have the "flag".

On another note, I changed the FTP access levels, so that the majority
of the file areas (most, but not all) are open to everyone. There are
some areas restricted to Verified Users In Good Standing.

Yes I understand what the sysops do and what they do for me
and I do appreciate what they do for me, even if they do
setup same of program/layout and I would like to give them credit for
that, on my 2ndhoicecore,ddns.org:1024 in the bullitons I have done
that, will be doing that on my 1st Choice core after this and you
and other will be added + you it just remembering how they are.

I have a similar bulletin on the BBS here...a combination "Donations
