The second field of each line in an SBBSecho areas.bbs file is an echo tag. DM>FidoNet standard, echo tags cannot contain spaces. This is not an SBBSecho DM>problem.

No problem. I've been having problems with SBBSEcho. I discovered in
the second field in the AREAS.BBS file that there MUST be an underscore
_ character instead of a space...or SBBSEcho will barf.
Ian,
Okay, I hope you win
With being part time caregiver for my 91 year old Mom, I need to. My younger brother, who was nearly killed in a freak motorcycle wreck not
3 months after my wife died nearly 10 1/2 years ago, is in worse shape than I am. We were raised in the same home, and are the same gender
The only "hobby" he has is "his motorcycle". But, he is so bummed up from the arthritis after the wreck (he also had to have ankle,
shoulder, and neck surgery), that he can't ride long distances anymore.
While I spend a lot of my time with the computer...with things
related to the BBS, ham radio, and square dancing...he's like our late father...he HATES computers!!
I sent a netmail the same day, seen it go, but must of when into spaceravel

No problem. I've been having problems with SBBSEcho. I discovered in
the second field in the AREAS.BBS file that there MUST be an underscore
_ character instead of a space...or SBBSEcho will barf. This morning, I saw from the log "stray packets"...so, I looked at the SBBSECHO.INI
file, and it had 2 lines I hadn't seen before -- directories for
inbound and outbound with the entry. So, I've put them there, and now
the packets should move smoothly between SBBSEcho and IREX.

For my GUEST account (the same for unverified users), here's what I
have on the exemptions and restrictions:
Exemptions: DGLPTX
Restrictions: ABCEFGJKMNPRUVW
This is taken care of within SCFG.
Details on those are in the original SBBS docs, or probably now with wiki.synchro.net
Once they are verified, they change to:
Exemptions: CDJPQUX
Restrictions: None
That's taken care of within TELVAL, the Telnet Email Verifier.
Since I have ham radio related items on the system, some that are EXCLUSIVELY for licensed ham radio operators, I added the Flag "H" (without the quotes). This makes sure that unlicensed users don't get
into the areas. There are some ham radio items that are available for
all users, however...and those don't have the "flag".
On another note, I changed the FTP access levels, so that the
majority of the file areas (most, but not all) are open to everyone.
There are some areas restricted to Verified Users In Good Standing.

I have a similar bulletin on the BBS here...a combination "Donations
