• UNKNOWN USER Internet email forwarding always to #1 sysop

From Karloch@1:103/705 to All on Sun Sep 3 01:49:02 2017
    Hi everyone,

I recently got an spamer focused in the domain of my BBS that keeps sending email to someuserthatdoesntexistDOTbbsDOThispamsxDOTorg. The BBS is not able to find the user -that is correct- and then forward the message to the #1 user, the sysop, so I end up getting the spam.

Is there a way to configure Synchronet so it will simply reject emails to unknown users?

    Regards,

Yes, set the Mail Server Configuration -> SMTP -> Default Recipient to blank. This is also configurable via [Mail] DefaultUser value in your ctrl/sbbs.ini file.

Really simple! Thank you so much!
