From Mickey@1:103/705 to All on Tue Jul 18 12:34:12 2017
Hello all. I posted this a while ago, but in the wrong message base. <sigh>

Can someone, who has BBSLINK running on their system, PLEASE give me their command-line to execute BBSLINK's doors? Nothing I try seems to work.

I've had to do a clean install of Synchronet and I've lost much of this info.

    Thanks so much.

    I'm using exactly this:

    http://bbslink.net/sysop/synchronet.php

Did you edit your bbslink script to make sure it had the keys for your system? (Forgot what they're called.)

Thanks for the response. Ya,my bbslink.js in (Mods) is ready to go.
My old command-lines were something like,

    (start dir is mods) then

    bbslink.js dmud C:/sbbs/node%#/Door.sys

All the online help says just to bbslink.js (bbslink Doorcode)
but this won't work as you have to pass the Node# and User# along to BBSLINK

    I've never had a copy of synchronet.php

    :-)

Hmm, mine are set up exactly as on the linked page. (just calling ?bbslink
lord or whatever) Not sure what the issue could be.

I get a Windows JSCRIPT runtime error (looking for missing switch something something) whenever I try this. I was truly hoping it would work. :-)

Have you got your keys from BBSlink? You need to edit the BBSlink.js to add those. Anyway, I followed the instructions from the link below, once my registration came in, and it took me less than 5 minutes to get working.

goto the BBSLink sysop page and dload the script, there is a text file with it that gives you the step by stepmhow to set it all up.

As it turns out, it was the windows direct link library. I had neglected to add it after I re-installed the BBS. Always miss some damn thing.

    Thanks for your help.

First, is your system signed up to BBSLink, yo must have a code to put into the JS script to allow you access, you can only get this by signing up.

If so, you need that code, you need to put it back into your script, and access the script with the door code.

    vistit http://bbslink.net/sysop/

    for more info.

No, do not pass the node number anymore, just the door code

    dmud

    or just:

you possible have an older version of the script, and your crypykey may not even be valid anymore which may be causing that issue.. first try just pulling up:

    .[.][?].......................................................
    . BBSLink Menu . ..............................................................
    . .Name BBSLink Menu .
    . .Internal Code BBMEN .
    . .Start-up Directory ../mods .
. .Command Line ?bbslink menu .
    . .Clean-up Command Line .
    . .Execution Cost None .
    . .Access Requirements .
    . .Execution Requirements REST NOT G .
. .Multiple Concurrent Users Yes .
    . .Intercept I/O No .
    . .Native Executable No .
. .Use Shell to Execute No .
. .Modify User Data No .
. .Execute on Event No .
. .Pause After Execution No .
. .BBS Drop File Type None .
..Place Drop File In Node Directory . .............................................................. ..............................................................

If this does'nt pull the whole menu of doors available up for you, then you need to re-apply, or get back in touch with mark, get a new crypykey or something.. I'm fairly new to bbslink too.. but I've never heard of a reason to pass the node number to an external rlogin system..??

yup... special things like that are painful... there should be a way to have it
in the directory related to the BBS and it work from there... other programs can load their DLLs from their install directory or from the main system directories... i'm not sure what's so special about this one, though...
