    Tim,

you can stop most of them by putting a simple "Press ENTER" prmpt before yo a K>for login info..

I have that with the AceMatrix Logon Utility.

the bot will automaticially send UN/PW at the PRESS ENTER prompt.. so only K>password gets sent to username.. so even if they are using GUEST.. they still K>cannot get in.

Amazing how many potential callers FAIL the Guest Logon
sequence...just enter GUEST with no password. But, I have every letter
of the alphabet as an entry in my user.can and password.can file. In the user.can, you can add the tilde ~ as a wild card to catch everything.
But, you don't have that luxury with the password.can file.

They don't worry me a bit.. just a bit of a nuisance..

Too bad we can't have a deal like the Sysop Editor door (BUSTED53.ZIP)
that Dave Wendling did -- to deal with them.

Also known as the BUSTED door, when a user chooses it (the door is
labeled Sysop Editor on the BBS doors menu), they are presented with a
screen that says "Please Enter Your Sysop Password". Once there, it's
like a proverbial Venus Flytrap...it has closed on them!!

No matter what they type (6 characters, letters, numbers, etc.), it
says "Access Granted. Press <ENTER> to continue". (I'm snickering in
    the background, thinking "SUCKER!!"). <G>

At this point, they are presented with what looks like a User Account
Editor, which is all contained within the door, and not the BBS itself.
They can change any or all variables as many times as they'd like.

But, when they choose Q)uit, a screen comes on and screams YOU'VE BEEN BUSTED!! -- then it adds "And, if you thought you were going to get off easy...we're going to call YOUR MOTHER"!! <BG>

Dave is no longer developing his doors, but he released the key
generator for it, in effect, making them freeware.

    Daryl
