    I can connect to port 25 at that IP address just fine, so I suspect your ISP is blocking outbound SMTP (TCP port 25) connections. See http://wiki.synchro.net/faq:tcpip#send_mail for details.

    it means what it says... 104.44.194.233 cannot connect with the hotmail backend
    SMTP server at that specific point in time... the problem is on their end... i see this quite a bit when my thunderbird checks a few hotmail addresses... waiting a few minutes and trying again works... however, you can't really do this from the BBS mail system... it'll have to retry on its own schedule...
