    Hello,

    If you upgrade to the latest development build (of v3.17) you can benefit from automatic temporary bans, limited connections from the same IP, and more. See http://wiki.synchro.net/howto:block-hackers for more details.

    I have update the server to v3.17 and edit the sbbs.ini with the line MaxConcurrentConnections=2.

    After start I have a little error in the terminal Server Window:

    7.8 02:04:30a Configured time zone (BER, 0x103C, offset: 60) does not match system-local time zone offset: 120

    I dont know to handle this. Any hints?

    It's a warning, not an error. It indicates that your timezone (CET) has daylight saving time (summer time) but Synchronet was not coded to handle this. I'm committing a fix now. Also, I've changed the name of this zone from BER -> CET/CEST to match the standard for Central European (Summer) Time.

    Please let me know how it works for you. We haven't had a lot of european Synchronet sysops (excluding the UK).

    I change the timezone from ber to UTC+2. This is okay. I don't know, how to get a fix. Because the git address http://sbbsgit.rfrederick.net/ dont run anymore. On https://sourceforge.net/p/synchronet/ I can't find a committed fix.

    Synchronet sysops (excluding the UK).
    The UK excludes itselfs from EU. ;-)

    interested in the upgrade...especially with the security enhancements.

    Are there any special things I need to consider before downloading and installing it?? And, is there a link where I can obtain 3.17, even
    though it hasn't been "fully released" yet??

    If you're going to run SBBSecho v3 (included in the daily builds), be sure to run "jsexec sbbsecho_upgrade.js". If you run "jsexec update.js" it does this (run sbbsecho_upgrade) for you automatically.
