    Good morning! :-)

    written to disk (the file system) immediately. I think you're looking at a very old feature listing.

    This is the manual, which installed with Synrcho 3.16c.
    Is there a newer one availaible?

    Hi,

    The wiki (wiki.synchro.net) is slowly but surely replacing the old sysop manual.

    online information should always be more recent than others. I'm of the opinion that e.g. the sysop manual is much more comprehensive than the wiki.
    So you have to read the Wiki first and then read the missing things through the sysop manual. Or do I think wrong here?

    If you're referring to the HTML "Synchronet System Operator Documentation" (online at http://synchro.net/docs/sysop.html), then it's not going to be more recent than the wiki. In some cases, there is detail in the old sysop manual that is not yet in the wiki, but the intention/goal is to get everything in the wiki and moth-ball the old sysop manual. I'm not updating the old sysop manual at all, so there is already a lot of old/obsolete information in there now. It's not a bad idea to read it, just know that some of the information applies to old OSes and old versions of Synchronet.

    So I do not ask too many stupid questions. ;-)

    In the general function from Synchro they are writing:
    " Disk image is always current for enhanced system fault tolerance"

    what is that supposed to mean?

    It means that any changes to the databases (e.g. user base) are always written to disk (the file system) immediately. I think you're looking at a very old feature listing.
