Just noticed today when trying to search the term 'Telix' and doing a full extended description scan of all directories "even my nightowl ones" its coming up nothing, so I listed a few directories and found a lot of telix stuff, so I changed my search term to "ham, amateur, satellite, radio" I have thousands of ham radio files online, searched "Description scan, extended descriptions" all file areas, the new statusbar come up, looking pretty and all, and did'nt produce any results. just thought I'd let you know.
If you include commas, the search isn't likely to work as the search string is a verbatim (though, case insensitive) search. So searching for "ham, amateur" will only match items with that exact string ("ham, amateur") not "ham" or "amateur".
As for the search for Telix, are you searching for filenames or descriptions? Please provide more details. You could also try a similar search here (I have one or two nightowl CDs here) and let me know if it's behaving the same as on your BBS.

BTW, Synchronet doesn't actually support filename searches (through the filebase) with multiple '*' wildcard chars and anything *after* the '*' (and before a '.') is ignored, so "*telix" should produce the same results as "*" (i.e. all files). This searching should and eventually will be replaced, but for now, it's a basic MS-DOS like wildcard match.
