• Doorway Question

From DesotoFireflite@1:103/705 to All on Tue Dec 20 09:06:24 2016
Have a doorway question. I've been using doorway for years with great results, but I am unable to do one thing remotely. If I do a DIR/P or a DIR/W, I never see the Press Any Key To Continue: on the dos command line if the dir/p or /w goes over 1 page long. If I make that mistake, It will lock that node up till I hit the enter key on the local dos window if I'm at home, or I drop
connection, and the bbs recycles, but thats a pain in the butt. I know it's something simple, any ideas. BTW, this is for my other bbs, not my sync system, but the same holds true for my sync system also. It's not a big deal, but I was thinking about it this morning, and thought I would put the question out there in case someone else had this issue at one time or another. As always, Thanks

You could try using Deuce's cioxtrn instead. It's native 32-bit and performs the same/similar function as doorway.

OK, I thought about that, but I wanted to put it out there first to see if there was a simple answer I was missing. I thought it dealt with line 24/25 scrolling and scanning, but I've tried every combination of the /B: and /L: switch and nothing will show the Press Any Key To Continue: on the remote side, and it's only with DIR/P or DIR/W, works fine with any other instance... Thanks Rob for replying. Glad the move went OK.

this sounds like it is using something other than stdout for that output... possibly stderr but that's a guess knowing that those two are normal output handles which are different than direct screen writes and i don't remember if doorway can grab direct screen writes or not... pcmike should know, though, since he is now the maintainer of doorway...

I was, but he's been so busy lately. I'll give him a shout in the next few days, after the holidays. Thanks
