    When the new distribution is released, im open to running it as a platform to run a bbs.
    Would I still need SIO/VMODEM or is there any alternatives to the program.

    very likely, yes, you would still need SIO/VModem... the real question is if there are changes that will affect how they work and if they will work at all... i'm still using my original SIO 1.60 (IIRC) on eCS with no discernable problems...

    SIO is still the program to use, probably the only one, but it works flawlessly. I've been using it with eCS for a good while and will use
    it under ArcaOS5 when it is released.
